On April 6, it was learned from Henan cancer hospital that a new round of early diagnosis and early treatment project for cancer in 2021 was launched in Henan Province. The project will cover 60000 people in Henan Province this year, of which 15000 high-risk people will receive free screening for five types of cancer. The participation of the masses not only has the opportunity to participate in free cancer prevention screening, but also the families with difficulties will receive 10000 yuan of subsidy.
Since 2013, the national major public health service project, urban cancer early diagnosis and early treatment project, has been launched in Henan Province. The project mainly focuses on the investigation of risk factors and the assessment, screening and follow-up of the high-risk population for five types of cancers in cities such as lung cancer, colorectal cancer, upper gastrointestinal cancer (gastric cancer, esophageal cancer), breast cancer and liver cancer. The project is led by Henan cancer center and Henan cancer hospital. Up to now, the project has completed a high-risk assessment questionnaire survey of 340000 people in Henan Province, assessed 150000 people with high risk of malignant tumor, completed clinical screening of 85000 people, and identified various kinds of precancerous diseases, primary cancer and other diseases for 7011 people, effectively curbing the occurrence and development of cancer.
This year, the project will be launched in 8 provinces and municipalities in Zhengzhou, Zhumadian, Anyang, Luoyang, Nanyang, Jiaozuo, Puyang and Xinxiang in Henan province. Residents aged between 45 and 74 (with the date of birth of the ID card) and local registered residence (who live in the region for more than 3 years) will be able to go to the designated hospitals in the near future for screening. The patients who have been diagnosed as poor malignant tumors will enjoy the subsidy of 10000 yuan from Henan Cancer Foundation.
