Abstract:In2019,academicianHeJie,PresidentoftheCancerHospitaloftheChineseAcademyofMedicalSciences,andProfessorChenWanqing,directoroftheofficeofearlydiagnosisandtreatmentofcancer,publishedastudyinthelancet-glob

In 2019, academician He Jie, President of the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and Professor Chen Wanqing, director of the office of early diagnosis and treatment of cancer, published a study in the lancet - global health, which summarized that there are 23 main cancer risk factors in various provinces of China, which can be divided into 5 categories. They are:

The study used data from adult cancer mortality in 31 Chinese mainland provinces in 2014, and included 23 common carcinogenic factors identified by the international agency for research on cancer or the world cancer research foundation.

1、 More than 40% of cancer deaths can be avoided

The results show that among adults aged 20 and over, 1036000 people die of various cancers caused by the above 23 carcinogenic factors every year, accounting for 45.2% of the total cancer deaths aged 20 and over (about 2.29 million people).

In other words, as long as 23 carcinogenic factors are well controlled, more than 1 million people in China can avoid dying of cancer every year.

Specifically, 51.2% of male cancer deaths and 34.9% of female cancer deaths can be avoided.

In men, more than 70% of Kaposi's sarcoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, anal cancer, oropharyngeal cancer, liver cancer, laryngeal cancer and lung cancer can be avoided.

In women, more than 70% of Kaposi's sarcoma, cervical cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, anal cancer and vaginal cancer can be avoided.

2、 The main carcinogenic factors in men and women are ranked differently

Male: smoking is the first carcinogen; The second is hepatitis B virus infection, inadequate intake of fruit, drinking and PM2.. 5 exposure.

Women: the first cause of cancer is "low fruit intake", that is, not enough fruit. In addition, hepatitis B virus infection, active smoking, overweight and human papillomavirus infection are also the main carcinogenic factors in women.

3、 Five types of cancer risk factors vary with age

In addition, the study pointed out that the proportion of cancer deaths caused by the grouping of five carcinogenic factors in the total cancer deaths has different age trends in the population:

1)The proportion of attributable cancer deaths in the elderly group was higher, especially in men aged 50-54 and women aged 65-69.

2)Among the infectious factors, both men and women aged 30-54 have a high proportion of attribution, with the highest peak at the age of 35-39.

3)The attributable proportion of dietary factors and environmental factors increased with age.

4)Among the metabolic factors, the peak ages of male and female attribution were 40-44 years old and 50-54 years old respectively; And before the age of 50, this proportion is higher in men than in women, and after the age of 50, this pattern has reversed, that is, women are higher than men.

If the above factors are effectively controlled, not only the cancer burden in China is expected to be greatly reduced, but also conducive to the prevention and control of other diseases.

Stay away from 23 carcinogenic factors, please keep 5 forms!
