On March 20, 2021, the first meeting of the Expert Committee on children's hematology and malignant tumor of the National Health Commission and the national report meeting on children's tumor monitoring were held in Beijing under the guidance of the medical administration and hospital administration of the National Health Commission and sponsored by the National Children's medical center and the National Children's tumor monitoring center. At the meeting, the annual report of national cancer surveillance in children 2020 was introduced, which is the first report in China to describe the characteristics of diagnosis and treatment of cancer in children.
Under the guidance of the National Health Commission, based on the collected cancer case information of children, through data quality control and statistical analysis, the National Cancer Surveillance annual report 2020 for children was compiled. The book is composed of eight chapters, including the policy background, objectives and tasks, monitoring methods and contents, monitoring quality control, statistical classification and indicators, data inclusion scope and analysis contents, data quality control results of the annual report, National Children's tumor monitoring data analysis, and main cancer monitoring data analysis results.
The annual report included 329093 child cancer case report cards from 313 child cancer surveillance sites nationwide, and analyzed the case information of malignant tumors and benign tumors of central nervous system from January 2017 to December 2018. This paper describes and compares the age, gender and cancer spectrum distribution of tumor children in 31 provinces, six regions, and analyzes the distribution of tumor children from different provinces, medical payment methods, hospitalization expenses and average length of stay. The above dimensions were analyzed and displayed for children with leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumor, bone tumor, renal tumor and liver tumor.
The publication of the annual report is of great significance to the prevention and treatment of children's tumor, which will play a positive role in promoting the standardization level of diagnosis and treatment follow-up and whole process management, promoting scientific research in related fields, and providing strong scientific data support for the implementation of fine management of health administrative departments. As one of the landmark achievements of children's tumor surveillance in China, it is a milestone in promoting the development of children's tumor epidemiology, clinical medicine and health economics.
